The Fifth and Missing Team
Jason Grant, Creative Director & President
Jason has a diploma in Creative Advertising from Centennial College where he specialized in Copywriting. He was employed by a large advertising agency in Markham before striking out on his own to found Fifth and Missing Design Group in April, 2003. Jason’s talent and flare for designing is apparent as is his business sense - he quadrupled sales from 2003 to 2007.
In the eight years he has owned the company, Jason has established himself as an expert in the design industry. While the company continues to grow, he stays true to the original directive of providing high-end graphic and web design services for clients of any size.
When not in the office, Jason can be found reading, playing soccer and teaching his two-year old on the importance of safecracking as a valuable life skill.
Sylvia Grant, Director of Business Development
Sylvia comes to Fifth and Missing with an Honours degree in Biology from the University of Waterloo. Working in the environmental field for a number of years, her interest in business and marketing practices continued to grow until she decided to pursue a career in business management.
Starting at Fifth and Missing in 2007, Sylvia has progressed within the company from an Account Manager and now fills the role as the Director of Business Development. Sylvia is responsible for overall business development and overseeing company operations and staff. Sylvia is resourceful, imaginative and eager for the growth and development of the business and all of its employees.
Sylvia enjoys a good book with a happy ending, playing soccer, survival planning in the event of a global disaster and teaching her two-year old the dangers of choosing a criminal lifestyle (i.e. safecracking).
Tricia Lovato, Account Manager
Tricia comes to Fifth and Missing with a Business Administration Degree from Nipissing University and is currently working towards her Certificate in Human Resources Management with Sheridan College. Tricia’s extensive customer service and human resources background enables her to work effectively and efficiently with new and existing clients in a timely, personable and professional manner. At Fifth and Missing, Tricia is responsible for lead generation as well as managing key account relationships and client needs. She is the primary point-of-contact for clients and suppliers, and is the liaison between designer and client. Tricia brings much enthusiasm and passion in all she does.
Tricia enjoys working out, family trips to the latest amusement parks and baking when she is totally stressed out (thus why working out is first on the list). Her van has seen many km’s in her mission to visit as many businesses in Barrie as she can to showcase our awesome design work... maybe you’ve passed by her and not even known it!
Giulia Carpenter, Account Manager
Giulia is welcomed to the Fifth and Missing team with honour diplomas in both Graphic Design and Advertising from Georgian College. Giulia has worked in the design field for over 7 years and her enthusiasm for creativity and customer service still continues to grow.
At Fifth and Missing, Giulia is responsible for managing key account relationships and client needs and assisting in administrative tasks as needed. She is the primary point-of contact for clients and suppliers, and is the liaison between designer and client. Giulia is knowledgeable, well-organized and is always eager to take on new challenges. Giulia enjoys scrapbooking, spending time with her family and hanging out with her momstown friends.
Nikki Shelton, Graphic Designer
Nikki initially joined Fifth and Missing on a 3 week co-op placement that is a requirement for third year students of the graphic design diploma program at Georgian College. Nikki’s design skill, conscientious attitude and her ability to fit in with the rest of the team made it an easy decision to offer her a design position within the company.
Nikki completed her diploma and as a recent graduate is now focusing on mastering the ins and outs of designing. Nikki is versatile and adaptable and loves the challenge that new projects bring.
When she is not glued to her monitor or seeking advice from her revered Creative Director, Nikki enjoys cooking, travelling and watching Criminal Minds marathons. The sheer mention of sushi can make her mouth water.
