Our graphic and web design process is structured to ensure our clients receive the highest quality service. We will work with you every step of the way to tailor the designs to meet your needs.
Every job that comes in, from a single business card project to a full-scale marketing campaign, gets handed over to one of our dedicated account managers. This account manager will become your single-source of contact between yourself and the design, from start to finish, so you'll never have to deal with multiple people.
Some clients prefer to meet directly with the graphic designer who will be working on their project. Our designers are experienced, energetic, and will happily offer their professional opinion.
You'll find that no matter how complex your design project, it will be handled confidently and professionally. Here are the steps we take in our graphic design and website design process:
1. Quote Request
The first step in the design process is to lay out expectations and price in a formal quote. Your dedicated account manager will provide you with a quote that is clear and comprehensive so that both you and they know what to expect as the project moves forward. Being concise is especially important for the larger, more complex projects.
Depending on the size of the project the account manager will include as much information as possible about project specifications. Once you have a chance to review and approve the quote, and before we begin work on design, your account manager will request a deposit.
2. Information Gathering
The key to a successful project is good communication. Before we design anything, your account manager will communicate with you so they may understand the project requirements and the full project scope. Collecting the necessary information is essential for a design that will be effective and memorable, so depending on the type of project and project complexity any or all of the following will be discussed:
- The audience and/or target market(s)
- The message you want to convey
- If there is current branding to match
- Whether there are any specifics (colours, fonts, images, etc.) you want incorporated into your design, or samples of other work that you particularly like (such as a brochure of your competitor's product or a website that has the exact menu options you're looking for)
- If there are certain things you definitely do not want (certain images, layouts, colour schemes, etc.)
- Turnaround time for first concept
- Whether there are any deadlines to meet
Collecting this information, and any other ideas, from our clients helps our working relationship to grow and ensures that the design process runs smoothly. It also helps to ensure that the client is perfectly satisfied with the process and with the results.
3. Design Begins
The account manager relays the details to designer and the designer begins work on your concept. During this time as the design is taking form, your account manager may update you on work being done or ask you a few questions for clarification and to ensure the design matches your specific requirements.
> First Concept Presented
> Client Provides Feedback
> Revisions and Refinement
> Project Approval
> Delivery
Depending on the project and what was agreed to in the terms of the quote, the account manager will provide one to three concepts for feedback.
You will have time to review the concept and suggest any changes you would like to see incorporated. The account manger then relays these changes to the designer and the process continues based on the revision schedule (approx. three rounds of revisions).
Once the project has been completed and approved we move on to the next step, delivery. If the project was for design only, your account manager will provide you with the final electronic files. If printing was involved we co-ordinate the printing and delivery of all your printed materials.
4. Balance of Payment Due
Once the project is complete and printed materials have arrived, your account manager will send you an electronic invoice. Our payment terms are 30 days from the date issuance of the invoice.
